Florence

Was sad to leave Venice today but I had a positive outlook that all of Italy was going to be like this. I was sadly mistaken. After a wonderful fast train ride chatting with a couplea Italian guys and sum bubbles for lunch we approached florence with an open mind.

Our plan to just walk outv the train station and book a hotel was a long way off so onto plan B. Walking the streets playing tag team having turns asking at hotels about a room. They were either full or 140€. Finally we decided to take a €94 basic as room. I was in a grump by now so we decided to head into The town and see the sites. What is with all the naked male statues in Florence? We found the river so thought a wine overlooking the water would chill us out. Two white wines and a small chips cost 24€ and the waiter was so rude once he realised we were only ordering chips. The day just went downhill from here so pizza for tea (again) and home for an early night. Fast train out of Florencioin the morning me thinks.
