Melk and the wachau valley

This morning we woke to a very foggy day where it was hard to distinguish anything  out the window. We also had our first frost and the upper deck was very slippery.
We travelled through the wachau wine valley that had the most beautiful scenery and we couldn't see our hand in front of our face. But there were a few glimpses of blue hinting at a fine day ahead if the fog ever disappeared.
We docked at emmersdorf and were able to disembark and wander around on our own. It was a beautiful wee town with nothing open. Lunch today was 2 hours after breakfast but I still managed to fit in 3 courses.
Our excursion to melk Abby home to the benidictan monks. What a beautiful working school, church and museum. When we got to the church we were treated to an organ show all to ourselves.
When leaving here ( I was last on board as I was running up and down steps trying to get pics) we drove through the wine valley where vineyards grew on terraces just like the paddy fields in vietnam.
We walked through Dürnstein the home of the ruins where Richard lionhearted was held captive for 5 months. Then wine tasting and back on th e boat for our last supper. Another fine meal with fine company... Settling the bill wasn't as rewarding
