Day 1 Dubai

JetlAg hit me straight away so after a quick walk and breakfast (curry and noodles) I hit the hay. A few hours sleep and I was very refreshed so Mel and I thought we would head to the beach for a look. After walking to what we thought was the beach we turned around and came back. Next time we may listen when they tell us long way need taxi.
The city tour of Dubai began with a visit to the royal families first weekend house. Tomorrow is a public holidays s the celebrate 42 years as a combined country. Found out lots of information on Dubai. Can not believe that the city is made up of only 19% locals and mostly Pakistan and Indian men. No wonder curry is always on the menu. we drove past palaces. Next stop was a mosque. Where we were informed if we take pictures of women in their natural dress we could be put in jail. we stopped at the museum was very tired by now.
Last stop to the water taxi to cross the creek to the Dubai spice and gold souk. I loved the spice and photos will not do it justice as you need smell a vision. The men were just as bad as the women in Vietnam at trying to get you to buy something. But we were lucky and one man explained every spice.
Next stop the gold souk... Gold everyehere, the largest gold ring in the world.
Finally home to the hotel for a chicken curry and bed. Phew
