France

After the drama of not being able to get seats we arrived early to the airport and managed to score first class seats to Paris. I had brought some new boots yesterday as I had worn 2 pairs of shoes out and only had them on for ten minutes before I had to change to sandals due to 2 large blisters. Now people are looking at my completely unsuitable footwear that doesn't go with my winter attire and pack.
Back to first class...Comfy seats and room to stretch out and enjoy the view, and what a view as Spain turned into France. We travelled along the east coast then into Lyon and up to Paris.
We arrived into paris thinking we were shit hot on the Metros but that came to an abrupt holt when we were faced with the Paris metro at rush hour! Finally we arrived at our hotel where we checked in and found our room and much to our delight we have an awesome view of the Eiffel Tower from our bed and our shower.
On our first trip down in the very small elevator it became stuck about the 3rd floor with the internal door opening and shutting but the outside one not budging. After a quick push of the emergency button we could hear people outside so we yelled out that we were stuck. After about 10 minutes some guy used tools to wedge it open. I was not happy but remained remarkably calm . they didn't seem concerned and just fobbed it off. I will be walking the 5 flights of stairs now. That will teach them!!!
As we were starving and thirsty we headed out for a meal and had our first taste of Fine French Food, yummy. Freshly baked bread, creamy chicken, pasta, salad and a couple of light refreshments.
Back to our room to take photos and now I am laying in bed writing my blog and watching the Eiffel Tower twinkling. Sometimes I just can't believe I am actually here.
