A wee sleep in before we hopped on the metro for the louvre. Buying a pandora bead of the eifell tour was the first port of call and then into the louvre. Hanging out with lisa was the first thing we wanted to do so we headed straight there however straight there meant in, out, up, down, through, and around although the Audi guide did state 6mins. When I walked into the room there were a lot of people so I was looking at the wedding at casa when Mel said did you see her. Of course I didn't she was hidden behind all the people. I managed to muscle my way up to the front where I pushed play on my audio device and listened and gazed and then took pics. Venus de milo was the next on my list and she was just as hard to find, but there she was with the sun shining on her ahhhh. Many paintings and sculptures to view but so little time. My blisters had also started to play up so after a while we headed off outside before we jumped on the metro for Norte dame. Coming out of the metro the sky was blue but it had rained while we had been underground, it was chilly so a quick visit and a wine at the bar was all we managed before we head home. On the way the underground train we were ons lights went off and then it stopped. Was a bit scary but no one else seemed concerned after a while it started up and headed off again making a terrible noise. I had visions of the next one ramming into us from behind.
We had reserved a table for tea at a fancy restaurant for our last tea and although it cost nearly a weeks wages I don't think I will ever taste food like it again.
First course (complimentary) carrot soup in a shot glass and bread.
2nd course, stuffed artichokes
3rd course, fillet mignon with mushroom medley and the softest creamiest potato
4th course, the house special, espresso with little bits of everything, mouse, cheesecake, custard, Bluberrys, sponge, crunchy things.
5th course, I thought was pepper mints but no I was wrong it was sugar cubes for our coffee. I hid the evidence that I was silly enough to think that and eat one.
Home to pack for amsterdam in the morning.
Classic mum, reminds me of the hidden evidence of Sandras half eaten knitting needles off her cake....
