We had a comfortable train ride in first class with a wonderful view of the countryside. The trees in Berlin have the largest birds nests in them I have ever seen.
Arrival in Berlin 6 hours later then onto the underground to our hotel and we were greeted with two bottles of becks and 2 waters. These will be replaced each day complimentary.
We decided to head out for food since we hadn't eaten all day and found a nice restaurant where I had an authentic Berlin tea. Potato soup with spicy sausage and then sauerkraut, pork and warm potato salad. Yummy.
Walking off tea we stumbled on the German Xmas markets which were just humming. What could we do but join in with mulled wine. we then spotted an ice skating rink so I just had to have a go cos I'm so good at ice skating. (That is the mulled wine talking as I was hopeless clutching to the sides like a scardy cat and eying up the penguins the younger kids used to stay balanced. Oh well it was fun and I had a god laugh.
Home now and sitting in the hallwY as wifi won't work in our room. We only have tomorrow to sightsee as everything closes up for Xmas 1 and xmas 2.
